RUFT. (Ready to use Therapeutic Food)

Description:

Grupo Planificaciones Mundiales is developing a prepared food product against malnourishment in children, generically known as RUTF.

A food product made from natural nutrients that provides sufficient nutrition to combat malnourishment in children.

It is packaged in 100 gram doses in vacuum-packed sachets and provides a minimum caloric content of 500 Kcal.

It is especially useful in poverty-stricken areas and for NGO and International Organisation campaigns.

The advantages of this GPM product for reversing malnutrition in children are:

- Low production costs.

- High production capacity.

- Easy to produce, due to components being commonly available and not faced with shortages.

- Easy to use and to transport in hot climates.

- Long shelf-life.

- Simple production plants and packaging methods that are easy to set up anywhere in the world.
